While waiting for the screenshot I have one piece of advice already.

Make what you need for now, and for the very short term without worrying about making it perfect. Rail prints you make now will be unusable after the updated to version 2.0.

What you "learn" however, will be useful then as much as now.

Which FFF do they talk about the new rails, I’d like to read it.

Not quite the correct link, from the url you gave, click on "share" under the image and copy that link to display it directly.
The url should start with: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails

As it currently is designed, your setup is not really much more efficient than just having a chain signal at the entrances and a normal signal at the exits, with no other signals.

For example, trains going straight in the east-west lines would not be able to go through at the same time due to several blocks being shared between the two (3 blocks even).
The same is true for the north-south lines of course.

Of course, that intersection should work fine as long as the throughput is not high, but there is little impact from having chain signals throughout the whole thing.

Here is an example of a T junction to give you an idea of what you could try to aim for in terms of block splitting:

It definitely isn't the absolute best intersection or anything like that, but it should give you an idea at least.

Which link?

The screenshot, if you paste the "correct" link for steam's screenshots it displays it directly in the thread (like for my T junction for example) instead of just being a link that people need to click on to open the image in a different page.

Should be fixed now

Would I be able to copy the intersection and rotate it 180 degrees, to make a 4 way intersection?

Also, can you post a BP for it?
Fel May 31, 2024 @ 10:13am
Rotating or mirroring wouldn't work, there is no space for the straight rails there.
I also make a point of never sharing blueprints, sorry.

That being said, there are plenty of blueprints and even full blueprint books for intersections and other rail-based stuff (stations and so on) if you search a bit either on the blueprint sharing website or on the official forums.
There is even a thread that compares a whole lot of different good intersection designs on the official forums, even if it will all become obsolete when 2.0 comes out because of the changes in curved rails.

Trains are not able to travel in opposite ways at the same time because your "X" parts are one chunk reaching both sides of the rails, there doesn't seem to be enough space to put signals in there so you need to redesign. Same with the center square which is one chunk blocking all train movement, there however is enough room to put signals to divide it.

This is something i came up with, it seems to work just fine. And it even matches your rail spacing

It depends what is the longest train that will use the intersection. If your right turn spurs are the length of the longest train that will use the intersection your traffic will move a little smoother. Other than that try to limit the maximum number of crossovers you have. Sometimes it can be helpful to design intersections where the trains can only go straight or make right turns. The train will have to travel a little farther and you'll need turn arounds at rail ends until you have 4 total intersections but intersections that cause a train to crossover all of your lanes are the ones that cause the most congestion and congestion reduces the value of higher tier train fuels.

Or wait for elevated rails, then nothing has to cross anything.
