Outside of putting a game in your wishlist to be alerted when it goes on sale (useless in this case but usefull for many other games), you can also visit steamDB to see the price history, which includes sales and the various regional prices:

guessing you really liked the demo? :-)
it was that way with me back in 2016 - played the demo, discovered there were no discounts planned - and had to come home from work early the next day to buy it, because i could not concentrate otherwise lol
was the first game i ever bought on Steam without a discount (was cheaper at the time, but was still more than i generally spent on a single game) - and i never regretted it - is one of the best and most polished games i have ever played - from devs that clearly take pride in their work - and hit a niche with the perfect product - kind of how Minecraft did back in the day
anyway - hope you get good value
i'm up to 2500+ hours
and many people are well into the thousands (a few in the tens of thousands lol)
and many pushing up towards their first thousand
so chances are good :-)
also - as an example of the trust i have in this dev's ability to deliver incredible value - i am very excited to be offered the opportunity to by the Expansion for this game at the end of this year - for which i will likely be paying almost double what i paid for the original - and i will be paying them that money with a smile on my face :-)
and FYI - when that Expansion is released, the current game that you now own will be getting a massive free upgrade - with a whole bunch of feature upgrades and improvements - and maybe even some new features - is gonna be great :-)
Unless there are some massive changes between current plans and final release, you can be sure that new features for the non-expansion game is not a "maybe," but is a fact.
I'm not sure if you're still avoiding spoilers or not, so I'll give you the out, while filling in some of the new features for everyone else, which includes at least 1 brand new thing to build, aka new content.
Some of the new features current games will get for free are:
I may have not listed someone's favorite, and I wasn't trying to list everything. I just tried to cover a few of the high points in my anticipation. I also didn't include the smarter bots, which you already read about so no need to hide that.
Yes, the 2.0 update to the non-expansion game is going to be almost as good as new presents under the Yule tree. For free! And, we're only half-way through the wait. No clue what else might be added in the next few months.
yeah i was pretty sure there were some new features - but a lot of things are upgrades, changes or additions to existing features - and i suspect many can be considered new features or feature upgrades
either way i don't need to nitpick - even if it is all upgrades i will be fully happy lol - not sure what "new" feature i might want - i took a peek - and i consider being able to reverse landfill to be an upgrade to the landfill feature lol ;-)
anyway - thanks for providing the full and accurate details
i am still trying to be at least a little surprised :-)
and so excited to have my trains going over other trains (with the Expansion) - proper cloverleaf junctions - yay :-)
