Respawn location

Hello guys, it there any way to reset a respawn location? sometimes when i start a new game i have to travel a lot to find a nice place to start. And death in late game is unavoidable at some point. Any helps? or any useful mods to achieve that? Thanks!

yeah, i play multiplayer with my friends mostly

Travel to where you like then in console (~) type
/c game.local_player.force.set_spawn_position(game.local_player.position, game.local_player.surface)

Thank you so much, but we play on a dedicated server, and using command lines sometimes causes unsynchronization between me and server, which forces me to change my profile(name) and it throws me back to the default respawn location

It shouldn't unless you are using bad mods that cause desync. You also must enable command on the headless server for the "local_player" to enter commands. Part of the beauty of deterministic game is that any kind of "cheating" will cause desync since one of the player is obviously out of step with the rest.

it's not like in Rust where you can place a bag or bed and respawn there at will. This game has a long way to go until multiplayer is implemented properly

Thanks for the reply, LOL. I have been using console command to set respawn point just because when the plant grows bigger, i dont want to spawn at middle of railway systems.....

You can find a right kind of spawn in singleplayer. When satisfied, copy world save for server.

why not set up a passenger train for spawn location?

Gonna necro this as it's the first result on google. For anyone trying this in multiplayer, use promote [username] on the server console to gain the right permissions and then use the above command but replace local_player with just player on the client console.
