This is a free publicly accessible demo. It contains only a subset of what is already available in the alpha. Purpose of the demo is to teach the very basic game mechanics and let the player decide whether he / she is interested in more.

You can either download the Demo directly from the store page (there will be a button on the store-page, even though the widget below shows the full price)

Stable Version[www.factorio.com]

The stable version has fewer features than the "experimental version", however it contains no (known) bugs.

Experimental Version (currently unavailable)[www.factorio.com]

The experimental version has more features than the "stable version". There might be some nasty bugs. Use on your own risk. Your computer probably won't explode though :).

I downloaed the 64bit stable version of the demo . And only the first mission worked.
The second one says something like solar panel not found and the third mission gave me a market not found...

Attempt to use different prototype to traverse save of already removed entity called "solar-panel" failed.There is no other prototype of the same type (solar-panel) to be used to load the entity.

Someone suggested it here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/427520/discussions/0/412447613569740340/#c412448158147302217 and the moderator said that they will make the suggestion to the devs, its likely that the demo just hasnt been approved yet by valve.

Myslím, že demo obsahuje jen tu první campaign, druhá a třetí je až v plné hře. Teď jsem demo zkusil stáhnout a taky dostanu error, ale když spustím plnou hru tak to funguje.

Není zač, kdyby jsi měl třeba nějaké další otázky, můžeš si mě přidat, sice nejsem developer, ale Factorio hraji a sleduji už nějakou dobu ;)

I would strongly suggest the dev team to publish the demo on steam as well. I have to explained to my friends that this game is fantastic! There's a demo as well but it's on its official website.

I downloaded the same version. I was able to play all three missions but the game did stop responding on me twice. Try downloading and installing it again. The game seems to be a lot of fun, but the crashes I experienced are whats held me off buying it already. That being said I will still probably buy it as even after playing the demo I keep thinking about the game.

Admittedly the screenshots etc made me wary of his game. The demo? That got you a sale.
