When did you first buy Factorio?
Seems I bought it from factorio.com way back on May 30, 2015, for 20 euros ($22.57).

Gotten over 1500 hours of playing on Steam alone, plus thousands more with the offline client and modded playthroughs. Well worth every penny spent.

I bought it when it was version 0.15 for $20 US (just before it went to ver 0.16) It was so good even at that point that I bought a copy for my wife and a friend so we could all play multiplayer.

4,000 hours later still playing vanilla both single and multiplayer. I might go for a mod attempt when Space Age is 6 months out.

You've never tried modded? Wow. You should try Seablock. Or Krastorio. I can't imagine 4000 hours of just vanilla. If you fancy a challenge, Pyanodons is very interesting. There's even a seablock version called Pyblock.

26 Jul 2016. 2205 hours in. Got the game for both my nephews, too. Hot damn this game is amazing, both the content and the quality of it.

I never felt the need especially for little mods like water fill or squeak through. I've had more than enough fun refining blue prints, economizing UPS, and building magabases until my UPS drops below 30.

Most of the overhaul mods would just use more UPS faster. The most fun for me is getting an efficient base that is as large as I can make it. Most of the overhaul mods are only going to be repaints or blends of existing mechanics and will just be different rather than new.

About 6 months before the expansion comes out I'll give a couple of the overhaul mods a spin. I doubt they'll be move interesting just more complex (or needlessly annoying).

Around when it costed 15 euros, so 2014 v0.10-0.12? I don't know how to see purchase history from their website, i just remember it was 15 bucks. Now just bit under 4000 hours and still going strong. One of, if not the greatest games ever made!

I think I got it back when it was 20$ still :) I don't really have anyone to play it with sadly.

I got bought it for the $30 price in early 2021. I first played the demo on 18 Jan., and decided to get it. Sometime near April I had it and was playing the tutorial. A comment on 10 Apr. to a friend shows what I was doing.
Trains, hell. I'm still trying to live through level 3 of the tutorial.
I am a dedicated, but slow, player. 4 months later I'd finished what I considered a factory in level 5 of the tutorial. Little did I know that it was a tiny echo of a 'factory'
My first, bad, attempt at a factory in tutorial 5... Gonna restart that level and try again.

I did say I was 'dedicated', right? Checking my existing save files the total on-record game time is at 9432.5 hours. Of course there's many more hours with no record from discarded save files and designing prints where I didn't even bother to save the file, only export the BP string.

It was actually quite entertaining to review my random comments from back then. The things I thought I knew.

Halloween, 2017, for me. Around 950 hours (almost entirely vanilla); I really should find some time the next few months to bump that up to an even 1000, but I'm not sure what I want to do.

Chindraba (inadvertently) talked me into doing a 100% achievements run a few months back, and he's nearly talked me into trying to do a 100% achievements run on a default settings map, so maybe that will be it.

6-March 2016, very shortly after Steam release. 4110 hours played. Still haven't completed all the achievements.

2015. Overall I have "only around 600 hours (I guess), but that puts it near the top spot of the most hours I have in any game ever.

Sometimes I feel the Friday Facts that I have read every. single. week. for about 5 years are one of the biggest constants in my life.

Bought it on the May 14th in 2014 and i think it cost me 15€ and combined i have around 1000 hours in the game. I can remember that i used a paypal account from a colleague in my trainee years, since i didn't have one set up but i really wanted to play it.
I found out about the game when i got MangledPork Gaming's videos while watching Let's players play Minecraft modpacks.
Was more than worth it and i regret not buying a supporter tier back then.
