Another way is that for Christmas or birthday, just ask the people around you that you want a Steam gift card. That way, you can feel like it's a gift from someone to you.

After the crowd funding fulfillment they made the playable alpha available on their website for €10.

They don't list the asking price on their dev blog. That came from this article in Game Developer written by Mike Rose when he interviewed Michal Kovarik.

You're right. It's 35 nowadays, but another 5 bucks added over the prior 30 is not going to change the validity of the argument.

It would seem that you have found some scruples, somewhere.
Perhaps you ought to return them to whomever lost them.
You don't appear to know what to do with them anyway.
Factorio is selling for 35 USD. It's priced 45 dollars in Canada, as in 45 CDN.
Meanwhile, when not on sale Valheim's normal list prices are 20 USD and 22.79 CDN.
Next time you compare price points, have the decency to use the same regional currency rather than whatever shenanigans you're trying to pull here.
Next- Valheim is still an Early Access product, and like most EA games will likely increase price once finished. Same as Factorio did, actually. Back when Factorio was still Early Access, it could be had for 20 USD or regional equivalent as well.
Finally- 'what they're on' is the fact that Valheim is being developed by Iron Gate, which is owned by Coffee Stain Holding, a compartmentalized subsidiary of Coffee Stain Studios / Coffee Stain Publishing, which are in turn owned by Embracer Group. Which is pretty much a hedge fund focusing on video game acquisitions and in the past year(s) has demonstrated to be eponymous with the term greed.
