My brain just doesn't work this way, in such an organized fashion.

I need the best guide/advice I can get.

A few reasons. It solves about 40% of complaints about how to get into Factorio, and I wouldn't play factorio without it. I cannot convey to you how much of a game changer it was for my experience, and I know Im not alone based on the complaints made by new players in the forums. Also, I didn't realize how contentious an issue using this mod was among other players, which also means its often never mentioned, so I often bring it up as a way to bait the people who get upset that other people are enjoying a game in a different way then them.

Out of about 10 people, I would say teksura and maybe 2 others are the only people who opposed the mods use in what I would call a rational way. The rest get upset because I've basically invalidated one of their primary sources to confirm their self esteem. A 70% success rate is incredible.

Nope, it really doesn't. And your spelling is atrocious. Damn. Let the computers help you write properly at least.

What I'm reading is that you like to troll instead of making sure you're answering the question someone asked. Or preaching, which also amounts to not necessarily answering the question asked.

I don't think using the mod is the issue people have had with your writing, but I guess you're not open to understanding that.

PS: I didn't ask for any reasons, so you basically didn't answer my comment at all.

That's not the problem, but I shouldn't be surprised you couldn't understand what the problem actually is.

I would challenge your criteria for deletion. What we have contributed here is a partial examination of mods and their legitimacy in the context of easing new players into a game. I would keep it. If you think you have gained some amount of useful knowledge from it, or if it has legitimately helped you, that means someone else will also gain from reading it. Im not sure if you have the authority to do it, but If you think the thread has reached a natural conclusion, I would opt for closing/locking the thread.

Defacing the OP won't actually do anything to curtail discussion; it would just ruin the content that is actually in reply to the OP.

If you just don't want to get notifications, you should be able to unsubscribe from the thread.

If it's that you don't like that other people are discussing things different from what you want to discuss... well, that's not really something that should be up to you, is it?

I can understand the argument that threads should be on topic, but (generalizing the majority) men do not need more reasons to have their social spaces be more aggressively policed and shut down.

Edit: Actually this bothered me enough to act on it, So I made a male-centric space. Join up if you're interested in watching a lone madman shout into the void. I intend to post the essays I've written on the male experience to it shortly, starting after December 18.

It's less about the skill of "placing down equipment" and more your organizational skills and ability to not only plan out the final design in your head, but anticipate your upcoming needs.

Factorio is very much a game about designing your own system. In many ways, you're trying to construct a much larger machine. Simply throwing things on the ground willy nilly is going to be a nightmare later on. But if you can instead design your base in a more optimized way to produce more of what you need to prevent bottlenecks and be able to get things where they need to go, it becomes a lot more fun.

Of all the criticisms I get whenever I mention this mod, I would have to say yours thus far is the most valid. It does indeed remove alot of incurred penalty for placing things all willy nilly.

That being said however, I think this makes it more fun. I can try out any number of wacky structures and I suffer no time penalty for experimenting. Doesnt work? Rip it out, disassemble the entire 400+ machine structure in a few seconds. Start building the next iteration. Rip, repeat, finalize, integrate. I can achieve so much more when Im no longer constrained by the speed of my fingers hitting hotkeys. Some structures can take up to to 20 minutes to place manually, and if i need 10 of them, does anyone think Im spending over 3 hours JUST to test something? lol no. Rip, repeat, finalize, integrate.
If you want to test designs in an expanded creative sandbox mode, you can use the map editor and save your blueprints there. Then go into freeplay and play the game like normal with the conveniently designed, built and tested blueprints. Still no need for mods that just turn a game mode into another game mode that is already in the game.

But I see you went the full-on trolling route, so complying with OP's wishes, this is my last reply to you.

You can't delete or close a thread yourself, but you can unsibscribe from it, the button is on the right at the top of the discussion.

I just found the game a chore and buggy. Dsp to me is vastly superior.

Derbal Space Program? I would agree with you it is a chore, painstakingly setting down unit after unit of equipment. Have you tried Bluebuild or similar mod? For me personally, Factorio only became fun after I got that mod.

No. I played vanilla for both games. I didn't know mods were a thing for these games.

I tried using my own blueprints in factorio but you still need to build them yourself.

The tutorial was just bad. But I couldn't get pass something and I asked for help in discord and they replied that the tutorial is broken and I should just learn in a real save. So I moved on.

Trains were such a pain to learn. And trial and error became a legit way to working them out.

Overall I didn't find the game to be very good. I can see why some would love it. But then why not love dsp?
Fel 11 déc. 2023 à 7h34
Blueprints get built by construction bots once you unlocked and crafted them.
It is meant to be one of the fairly big steps towards automation as well and the blueprint tools are locked behind your first time researching it (it stays unlocked even on other maps after that).

As for DSP, it kind of lacks content, or at least did last time I tried it at a friend's house, with little to no late/end game content.

Discussing is fine.

But insulting each other in a less than civil manner isn't, even if it is on topic.

I had JUST bragged in this very post about how awesome this community is and it has degraded a bit into pedantry and low-brow cutdowns.
