/editor with "Instant blueprint building"
I've discovered the "/editor" command in sandbox mode which is awesome. When I place a blueprint while using the "instant blueprint building" setting, I get a red flashing icon saying no power. This goes away when I delete and manually place the building myself so I know it's not a power issue.

Bug?

The flashing red power is probably because while in /editor mode the clock isn't ticking. The red means it is connected to power, just there is no power coming in. If the clock don't move, no new calculations for the power happen. I don't use the /editor command, but I do use the Editor Extension mod, and I think the mechanics are the same.

What I find happening to me all the time is pressing the numpad 0, which stops the clock. Pressing it again turns the clock back on and all the red icons go away. Any yellow ones, of course stay there.

Could be that it's placing the buildings as part of a different force, maybe?
Not sure if forces can share electricity from poles.

Not sure what forces are, but when I build a huge solar farm in the exact same way, it doesn't power the flashing red no power stuff

That also explains why the belts stopped moving too! Thanks

It would help if it didn't just pause when you go into editor mode lol

I think it remembers the pause/not paused status from the last time. The mod does, and it's mostly based on /editor.

If you didn't already know this, using the /editor command also disables achievements. Once you save that game you cannot earn anymore achievements in that save. Other games, yes, but not that save.

Some people care about those, others don't.

Using any mod also disables them for records on Steam, but the game will keep a separate list of those with and without mods, so you can still track you progress, just not show it on Steam.
Unless they changed things. You can use mods in a save then remove all mods and still get achievements on steam on that save. There was a meme Factorio All steam achievements mods% speedrun that was less than a minute because you can use a mod that spawns you a giant factory. Then save. Remove the mod. Load save and you are done.

Not sure about the speedrun situation but removing mods does enable Steam achievements again. It only works for achievements you earn after removing the mods though. If you get, for example Tech Maniac, and then remove mods, you can't earn it again to get the achievement in Steam, nothing in the pre-space sciences left to research to trigger it. Same with Eco unfriendly and all the victory conditionals; Lazy bastard, Steam all the way, etc. Repeatable ones, like Tans-factorio, all the per-hour ones, It stinks, etc. Those can be earned any time, and if you change mods in or out, you can earn them a second time, once you again make the numbers add up, starting all over in the counting.
