Any tree regrowth and or healing mods updated to current version?
It kinda bothers me that if i pollute a lot in an area, and then move my pollutants, the trees stay dead. Or that they dont regrow, but i couldnt find any mods to do these that are updated to 1.1, do you know of any?

I haven't tested this mod but the descriptions says it makes tree spread https://mods.factorio.com/mod/Noxys_Trees
Updated a month ago, but I don't know if dead-looking tree heal.

It's of no help for an existing game, the dead trees stay dead, but you can mostly prevent the dead trees in a new map. On the map generation settings go to "Advanced -> Pollution -> Minimum to damage tress and set it to max (9999, default = 60). That's the amount of pollution required in a chunk before the game even considers causing damage to trees. If you have chunks with that much pollution they probably already have no trees to damage because they were cut to make room for the massive amount of equipment needed to generate that level of pollution.

You can regenerate the chunks using the console. You can then change the setting you mentioned with the console.

The console is like code as well, so you could probably even do a search for chunks that have none of your structures and regenerate all those, so you don't even have to manually regenerate the chunks you want.

A long time ago.

People tried to create several mods that caused trees to re-growth/re-generate over time.


It substantially negatively impacted performance because it would re-check every chunk and place a tree. In rare cases, it might find a tile inside your production line and mess with it. The more you explore, the more chunk the game has to check to place a tree in.

I wouldn't expect a tree mod that affects the entire world anytime soon.



I am currently playing Industrial Revolution 3 mod with a tree nursery (other mods exist which do the same thing, too). Those tree nursery buildings consume water to create wood/rubber (rubber comes from an alternative type of tree) and cause more trees to grow in the chunk where it is at.

This is better for performance since you only need at least 50 trees in a chunk, and the tree nursery won't impact UPS that much.

It is also fun trying to figure out how to incorporate tree/rubber products into your mass production line and absorb your pollution in a way that benefits you as a player.


I am unaware of any mods that take nearly dead or lifeless husks and turn them back into living trees with leaves.
