Is there a way to delete blueprint in your hand?
I find it INCREDIBLY FRUSTRATING that you can create a blueprint with one swing of a mouse (copy tool), but you can't delete it with one button after use.

Unneeded blueprints remain in your inventory and clog it up to the point you give up. And then you have to click each one of them to press the red dustbin button. This process drives me crazy.

I tried to find a solution. But the in-game tutorial is surprisingly silent on advanced blueprint usage. And all forum posts only mention the solution with clicking red button.

Not as far as I know. But if you're only using [ctrl]+[c] (or [ctrl]+[x]) it shouldn't create a blueprint in your inventory, but be in the "clipboard" that you access with [ctrl]+[v] and can scroll through.

If you have blueprints in your blueprint book or something you can put them in your hotbar and back in the blueprint library and you'll have access to the blueprint without an item of it in your inventory.

IIRC, right click the blueprint. Then click the garbage can icon.

That was what they wanted to know how not to have to do. It's right there in their post, they explicitly write out the process they wish were faster.

This reqire 4 actions and 2 of them is precise targeting of a small object with a cursor. It adds up quickly. Some kind of a shortcut keys can be 20 times faster

There is a mod for a delete blueprint shortcut, if you don't explicitly want to keep it vanilla.
Defektiv Sep 12, 2023 @ 11:52am
What shortcut is left to use that you won't accidentally hit sometimes and delete when you don't want to?

Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V are basically exactly what OP seems to be asking for. Makes a temporary copy of whatever it is you copied, paste with V, and it doesn't take up inventory slots, just gets over written next time you use Ctrl+C.

Welp, I already accepted that vanilla is steaming pile of sh1t. Аnd even something so simple as evolution indicator is require separate mod. Do you have a link or name of this mod?

Blueprints you want to keep are stored in a books and copied from them, not taken. All other blueprints are single-use 99% of the time

you do realize that a lot of people who answer posts here actually like the game and respect the devs right?

insulting the game and the devs is likely to massively reduce the number of people willing to help you

i wish you had made that comment before someone posted a useful tip for you

The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

much as i have lost any respect for the OP based on their insult to the game and the devs - they did in fact make it clear what they wanted

if you press Q the blueprint is saved in your inventory - it does not disappear

If there are a multiple quality of life features for which everyone uses mods for, but they were never incorporated in vanilla, i have no other term for that.

And that doesn't mean i disrespect developers, the amount of effort they put in optimization is outstanding
