It's due to the expenses for maintaining sock-puppets on these forums that need to go an explain same thing over and over again for people who cannot be bothered to use the search function.
It was sarcasm, not ad hominem. Ad hominem would be dismissing your point or argument by attacking you personally - e.g. "you are wrong because you are stupid". Since you didn't make an argument, there cannot be an ad hominem. Fun fact - that means someone can call you stupid and it would be presenting their opinion, while they can still engage with any argumentation you present honestly, and then you calling them out on ad hominem would be the fallacy fallacy.
See? The more you know :)
And like others already mentioned, it was due to inflation. In Wube's country, the Czech Republic, the inflation rate were in the double digits since the february 2022 (and seemingly still is), aka since the start of the ukranian war, that's why they increased the price to at least partially compensate for the unusually high inflation.
But let's hope that due to the expansion release that should happen somewhat soon (like hopefully during the next 1-2 years) they don't feel like they have to increase it again any time soon (even when the inflation keeps looking horrible).
You didn't bought the game then, you won't buy it in the future.
Apparently Factorio never, ever goes on Sale and will only keep increasing in price.
The Escapist even made a video about it. So if you don't own it yet, the best time to buy is now because it won't be less than it is now
Similar indie games? also not really. Satisfactory > $30, goes on sale. Dysen sphere > $20, goes on sale.
This game was already the most expensive by never going on sale, then they raised the price.
against AAA games? Yes, it's still half the price, being $35 vs $60-$70. But lets not pretend it's the cheaper among indies, it's not.
