(but this same contrast also a reason some people find Factorio better, so this depends on your preferences)
Satisfactory is significantly cheaper for part of the year. Although if Factorio is more to your liking, it's probably a lot more to your liking, enough to make up the difference.
Personally I prefer Factorio, but Satisfactory isn't bad either. They're both fun, but in different ways. Choose the poison you prefer.
Satisfactory is not just 3D, but 3D where the player is tiny and can't see very much. There are a ton of 3D building games, but I don't know any others like this. It works for making the factory huge but you just don't get to see much at the same time and that's a big difference.
But if you want to make an objective statement then it's really not that hard now is it? One game is still in early access, the other game had undergone over 10 years of development and content additions. It's not even a contest, nor is that a fair comparison.
Although, estimating based on what we've seen from Coffee Stain so far, the rate at which we've seen it and the general quality of it, I still don't think Satisfactory could come close to Factorio even if you gave it the same amount of dev time. From where I stand, one of the dev teams is clearly better at their jobs, or simply did a better job with everything starting with creating a good foundation upon which they can build their game, and ending with the actual execution of their vision.
But if you want a 3D world similar to Factorio then yeah Satisfactory is good enough for that and you can build some impressive buildings if you have the skills for it. I would just mod out the combat in the game, its not moving anywhere.
PS: you can like more then one game even if they are in the same genre and there is no need to compare. None of thementioned games are a carbon copy.
2d can have more functionality and is easier to comprehend.
3d can become cluttery and has an increased performance requirements.
2d doesn't have that many layers of overlapping.
3d can overlap everything and everywhere.
2d is easier to develop, so - more exquisite features.
3d is harder to develop, thus will always have less interesting features and more bugs
2d doesn't have physics.
3d has/can have some kind of physics.
2d has an overview
3d is firstperson
Basically - both are ♥♥♥♥♥♥ in their own way.
As has been pointed out, factorio is 2d, satisfactory is 3d.
3d looks better. 2d is easier to use, much faster.
Factorio is more complex in reagards to buildings, technologies and recipes, satisfactory is more complex in regards to building itself (the act of placing objects in a 3d environment).
In factorio you're in a constant struggle against a hostile environment. Your resources deplete, the biters evolve and spread. Its you and your machines against them, forever. Its completly possible to lose this game if you're careless, the biters get to strong and cut you of from neccessary resources.
In satisfactory there is alien life, and its hostile, but it doesn't spread. As long as you dont stumble over them its harmeless. It also will never attack your buildings. And resources are infite. Together it means that satisfactory is more relaxed, you have all the time in the world. You cant lose, its not possible.
Satisfactory has one map. Factorio has procedural map generation.
Satisfactory has an element of exploration, fps action and combat, Factorio has no exlporation but more complex (2d) combat.
Factorio has been released for a good while now. Factorio is a very well-polished video game with a thriving mods scene. There are a few minor grips with Factorio, and you can usually tweak or mod those issues out of Factorio.
I tried to get into Satisfactory, but they have a weird fetish for giving you Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and Repetitive Strain Injury. The 3D world concept is a great idea, and I would rather play something a little less time-consuming.
So why not take the best of each world and play them together in this mod?

Satisfactory is a factory Building simulator - you play it because you enjoy building the factory itself - placing each and every machine in an orderly fashion, making sure the belts are aligned and feed neatly into the next step of production. Options exist to decorate your factory and you take satisfaction in using them to turn a functional piece into works of art. And at the end of your labours you simply rest, look over all you have made, and be pleased with it.
Satisfactory is far slower than Factorio and when I went to replay it from start you basically just had to wait for things to get done before I could continue building my base.
I really just had to wait for materials to be built so that I could use it to upgrade my tiers to get new buildings.
In Factorio I could do other things while waiting for the other thing getting done.
So for me Factorio is superior.
