Owners who have previously reviewed this game...do not forget to update your reviews because of inflation ;)
Title.

If it's a good enough excuse for the dev (and it's not a good enough excuse but that's discussed in other threads already) to raise prices on a game released years ago with no major improvements or changes to justify it (any forthcoming content can be done as DLC with its own inflation-adjusted price) then it's a good enough reason to go back and update reviews

Maybe your view has improved on it, maybe not...just sayin' :cleanseal:

When landlords have better business practices than a game development studio, then you know some truly greedy people at the helm. Very unfortunate.
So your landlord is now supporting you.

And you can't see what you are stating here?

Thanks for reminding me. I need to update my review to mention avoiding the scalpers complaining about a price increase so I can own those Chud scalpers.

Oh my God no one is scalping that is an unspoken handful of people at worst. Everyone complaining is just pissed about the price increase. Who do you think you are persuading with that argument I doubt even the people who agree with you think this argument makes sense.

i don't think there's a right answer to the current subject/situation. everyone is right. yes, that includes Wube Software.

I'm sad to hear that the developer has fallen onto hard times financially :(

Don't you read gaming news? This is just a single instance and you can be sure that there were many more that weren't caught by an audit. My God what are they teaching people in school these days!

Back in the days they used to call it cracktorio because it is so addictive. Seems that now the name could apply because it makes you poor?

404 links provide no useful input to a conversation.

In school, these day, near as I can tell, they teach entitlement and anti-responsibility.

Used to be that they taught social responsibility and how to learn. Oh, and they taught a bit of respect for others, and for deity (what ever that form might be).

Quote the post and the real link shows in your post draft.
This is a case of Valve having added a particular key reseller that has been indited in shady illegal transactions one too many times, to the censorship lists on Steam Community. Their censorship filter affects the actual URLs as well.

Having taken the time to read that article, including the date, I'm led to the conclusion that scalpers are in fact not a problem for Factorio. In a 4 month period they had over 300 keys in doubt. Some, it seems, were sold through that site, while others were not.

The article does say
Klonan notes that after Wube switched to using Humble's widget on its site and refraining from "giving out tons of keys for giveaways to dodgy, often fake, influencers," the fraudulent purchases "stopped completely."

That was 2020, and I suspect that the devs would've noticed, and dealt with, any new illegal key usage since then as well.

All of which leads me to add to what they used to teach in school: critical thinking and English comprehension.

The article isn't about scalping, anyway, but about illegal keys. Scalped keys are, presumably legit, from a game standpoint, just bought and resold at a profit.

The game is now down to 91% in recent reviews.... I remember when this title was quite literally the highest reviewed game on steam with over 100k reviews, at 98.9%, since they went political they lost some of that percentage and now with this ridiculous price increase they are gonna drop even more

Can't say I feel bad for them. It's their decisions that led to this

It's possible to own the game and not have it on Steam.
