Disable cheats (commands) on multiplayer server?
Bought a server with Pingperfect. I have access to the full game directory and can edit whatever I want. I need to know either what config file I need to edit or what in-game command I'm supposed to issue to disable cheats/commands.

I know you can do this from the game's main menu, but since this is a purchased host I can't access it graphically. Any ideas?

You can disable commands altogether with "--disallow-commands" as the start parameter for the server.

Starting the server with the --disallow-commands flag will do that, but I don't know if Pingperfect allows you to change the command line.

EDIT: If you are not able to do that, request that they enable that in the user interface.

I really appreciate the replies, it was a big help. I opened a support ticket with them and requested they add --disallow-commands and a few other arguments to their command line interface. Now we wait and see what they do.

Normally I'd just host my server with my own equipment but I'm currently living at a university and can't do it with their network.

I don't know how it would compair to pingperfect in terms of cost, but if you have the technical knowhow to run the game server, you could look into Amazon AWS for hosting the server.

You connect to the server via a Remote Desktop Connection and use the OS of your choice installed on a virtual drive (or dedicated server if you choose). You access the server as if you were staring at a monitor connected directly to it and see the full windows/linux desktop and have full access to everything. It's pretty much exactly the same as running your home computer and you do everything exactly the same way you would on your home computer. Set up game servers, FTP servers, web site hosting, anything you want.

Wow, that is one hell of a hot tip. I will definitely look into that. If I could have a server with sudo Linux access I could do all sorts of things besides just host a Factorio server.

Thanks a lot.
