Playing without avatar/person character

Is there a way to play without infinate resources/stuff and not have to run around with the dude? IE:A normal game sans the character? Thanks

The custom scenario base/sandbox will allow you to play without the character, and let's you choose to have a starting chest or not, and all techs researched or not. Don't think it's inf resources for that, though..

OK, so if I choose the starter chest, it contains a LOT of stuff I don't want. I guess I could just not use all of it, but you do need to start with something. Was just hoping there was a game that gave you the default starting resources without the box of all the other stuff. *I get tempted to cheat. :)

I think if you do a custom game, and select god mode, you don't have a character. ALl the god mode does is remove the character, everything else is the same.
You still have to use the asdw keys to move the camera (wish it would move when cursor reached screen edges) but you get used to that pretty quick.

If you dont take the starting chest you just start exactly like that. The basic start like a normal game, just no character.

If you dont take the starting chest you just start exactly like that. The basic start like a normal game, just no character.

I tried that and, I ended up with zero inventory. Or maybe I didn't select "NO" first. Are you saying if I select "NO" for the Box, that I WILL get the typical starting inventory? I started a game with the box, and just took what I normally would have. Its almost impossible to find the box again anyway...so...lol! I'm so far into this new game that I haven't tried the "no box" aproach yet.

"Sans" means "Minus" or "Without".

Hm. Just checked. You're right. It doesn't work (anymore?)

So, just take 2 minutes. Get 10 Stone manually, get some trees and the long part: dig manually 9 iron and but it into a furnace with the wood. Then you can build a burning miner and you just have a basic start. In this game you can start with pretty much nothing at all.

So where is this "God" mode/switch at? I'd like to play without the little dude that gets caught up on everything when I'm moving around the landscape for which to me it's a game more about just building the factory chains since I play in peaceful (enemy never attacks first) mode.
