The best to do would learn to open ports on your NAT router settings. Learned this years ago and is not even hard if you just find the right manual to your own router. Works for every game with minimal internet problems. And your friends doesn't need to install messy programs to join. Now it takes me seconds to open the ports for a game instead of minutes setting up games with freinds installing these things. Really, i would suggest to try it once. After learning it once you can do it without a problem. You don't need to be an IT expert to do it.
Im using a Fritz.Box and I never had problems with NAT, but still Factorio doesnt work.
if you dont use hamachi or tunngle , the host need to forward the port manualy on the router
