automatic Tank refill?

Hi
I'm new to the game and watched some of "MangledPork Gaming" let's plays about it.
So now I tried the automatic refill of the tank with coal and ammunition... but as soon i set some inserters, they start to fill the trunk of the tank...
is there a way to stop that ?

press middle mouse to set filters (may not work in tanks though, I don't know)

u can't filter items inside the trunk... and in the equip u can only filter wich ammunition u want to use

Then fill every slot with one of an item so other items don't go in there

It's very well possible. I've also done it with cars and rolling stock.

Unless you filter your tank trunk, (see CarefulRogue's post), it is NOT a good idea to use the inserter to fill the tank... Bentham mentioned this drawback in a later episode.

Personally, I like to have chest nearby with all the things I will need. It can be very dangerous to take lots of stuff in your tank -- it can easily get destroyed.
