Steam all the way

If i craft portable solar panels for my power armor will it disable the Steam all the way achievement?

It should not. Only placing them on the ground/"building" them will disable the achievement. ... same goes for solar panels required for the satellite to launch the rocket.

Edit: If in doubt, save yoru game first, then craft the panels & place them in your armor... then check the status of the achievment. It will say whether it has been disabled or not.

Just got it yesterday, can confirm that using portable solar panels doesn't disable the achievement.

Strange, it didn't worked for me.
Have built solar panels (because you can't win the game without them; but i did not placed them to make power), have built the portable ones, because "Soushi" has stated it should work with them.
I got two achievements, but not "steam all the way". a pity.

Either it's been bugged or crafting them in a factory seems to disable the achievement as of 13.12.2016. I only built exactly 100 of them but was too lazy to pocket build them, so used assembling machine 3 with several speed modules. Didn't get the achievement. So it would appear that you need to build them in "pocket" nowadays :/

I build everything in assemblers, including the solar panels. This wasn't the cause of non-achievement.

I am running 16.20(exp) and just ran a test. I was able to build solar panel in a Machine 3, Load it into my backpack, and actually place the panel on the ground. However, the instant that the sun came up and the panel started to generate power the achievement was disabled.

I Have never played peaceful. takes away too much of the fun. if you want peaceful than you should put in the effort to make it peaceful. much more fun. :D
