Can't get cross-platform with Switch to work

Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but tried to host a multiplayer game on both the Switch and the PC... Neither can see the other... Tried LAN and a Public format and again... nothing. Can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

You both need the same patch. Switch version is lagging behind. Luckily you can get the old version from the factorio website or by going to the games properties in steam and in betas at the very bottom there should be a console matching version.

pc had a patch a day or two ago, probably takes a bit to push them through nintendo

I hope there isn’t much difference between the time between PC and Switch patches as I intend to play on the Switch but my friend wants to play on his PC.

The news post on the official site ( https://factorio.com/blog/post/factorio-switch-release ) announces availability on the Nintendo Switch and how to play multiplayer with a computer. In Steam, you can use the new beta branch of "console" to play the game version that is on the Switch Beware: if you go backwards in version, all sorts of things, such as the game, achievements, and saves won't work.
