display problem on new monitor ?
Hi all i got some problems with my new monitor and its only showing in factorio and only in the new one.
Old one is all right. I am baffled what is source of this problem:
im experiencing a some flickering (and its on refined hazard concrete and some on the automations building and a little bit on rails).
I even recorded video but problem is this that, when i was watched to this video on my old monitor there was no problem. But its still when im watching on new monitor.
When i off HD in windows there is a little better but still my eyes are tiring very fast.
WTH is happening here ? Someone has any idea ?
Im grateful to any help.

Let me guess: It's a freesync or g-sync monitor?

Which monitor? Maybe someone in here have the same kind...

If it's a 144hz model try setting it to 120hz. Having an even multiple of 60 can prevent certain visual oddities that appear on higher framerate monitors since Factorio doesn't care to draw above 60hz.

My monitor is 165 hz and I don't have that issue so I'm not convinced OPs problem is to due with that.

Yea, im on a 1440p 144hz monitor (VA) and no issues. Not saying its not the monitor but it seems unlikely to me

AORUS CV27Q - i can set it to 165 hz
It doesn't matter if i set 60hz or 165. This problem still occur.
something is bizarre here - if that was a problem only with the game - ok fine i can accept that. But i made a film:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7h9pckfxnA
and the result depends on which monitor im watching this ...

What should we be looking for in that film?

You get this flickering when you're moving, I assume?
Dollars to donuts, is the typical pixel-refresh problem with VA-panels and ghosting between pixels that have to perform hi-constrast differences switches between light/dark; or the black-frame insertion like techniques meant to cover up specifically those problems, back-firing. (Because some people's brains are wired differently than others, and they actually can see the black frames as flicker; while the majority of humanity can't.)

Go to microcenter or whatever local computer shops there are near you and ask to test with your video what monitor looks the best. If they refuse then go to another store. It's a bit sad that most hardware reviewers focus on cpus and gpus etc and completely ignore monitors or if they have a monitor review it is superficial and does not do even the most basic testing that would reveal these kinds of issues.
