Well if you look carefully at the controls then you will find that by default E is bound to two actions: "open character screen" and "confirm window".
"Open character screen" does not close the character screen (that's why it's called "open character screen" instead of "toggle character screen") so you need to close it by pressing the "confirm window" button.
You might not have noticed this because both actions are E by default but obviously things won't work if you forget to change the other key.
Next time get proper education from your parents and go shoot some ducks instead of interacting with human beings.
I played previous versions of the game. I dont need a tutorial telling me 99% of what i already knew besides a few control changes made sometime in one of the updates.
Do you replay game tutorials every time you revisit it?
Its not like all the other games i play are that fricky to control causing somehow this one to be overly weird with some input methods.
At least one person was nice and helpful. 50% is a good rate for steam forums.
You can place a link to a particular item in your hot bar and it will display how many of that item are currently in your inventory on the hot bar. You can then select an item from your inventory by left clicking on that item in your hot bar and deselect that item by once again left clicking that icon in your hot bar.
Also the way you can now select Blueprint "mode" etc.
Kinda handy but also a bit weirdly overblown compared to the versions i was used to.
Well, time to get used to it i guess. Thanks for the tips and tricks.
