Why won't the inserters put the rocket fuel into the train engines?

Not sure, but I use a requester chest by each train engine with a yellow inserter for refueling.

This is essentially the same thing, with some belt inbetween. Not sure what's up. I'll try the direct insert.

One possibility: If any part of the train is on a curved track it messes up insertions. It also doesn't look like it's officially at a station which might be an issue.

I checked that. Sent it officially to the station... :), and no curved track.

Based on the photo, it's not on a station - trains only load when they're registered at a station

Edit: someone already said that. Never mind!!

I'll double check as soon as it finished syncing :(, and I turn off sync lol.

The other end of the train is at the station. It's not loading either.

I think we're going to need a bigger screenshot. Iw ould also try moving the insterters closer to the middle of the engines. Might be a graphical trick and the engine isn't as big as it looks or something.

Your inserters are too close to the end of the locmotive, put them near the center of the locomotive.
Nellvan Nov 17, 2017 @ 9:35pm
Trains on manual load just fine wherever they are (fuel and cargo), except for fluid wagons. Unless it's some mod that causes this in my game. But if the other end is properly at the station this doesn't matter anyway.

The inserters being a bit off could be the issue, looks like they're still good though.

Are you using a locomotive mod and accidentally picked nuclear powered ones? Might be long shot, but just to cover every possibility.

I'm assuming the one on the track below works fine, so I don't think it's the inserter placement.
I see no wire going to them, so it can't be a circuit condition either.
You say they are properly docked at the station, and we can see the fluid cargo loading fine, so that's not the issue either.

The only explanation I can think of is that you're running an older version. This exact issue was in 0.15.7, but was fixed in 0.15.8 back in May.

Clearly you're all missing the real reason.... It's not loading Rocket Fuel because it's Solid Fuel on the belt.

Type of fuel doesn't matter. You can fuel them with wodden panels or small electric poles if you want to, that's not an issue at all.

Clearly you didn't get I was being sarcastic based on the OP's thread title.

I was so hoping you would say that. Love how written text conveys sarcasm so badly that the one being clearly sarcastic cannot see that the response was equally sarcastic. Love how you can troll people like that in written form.

Though it's a bit off topic now, so I'll return to being helpful now. As I said, the only thing I know of that can cause this issue is if you're running 0.15.7, where this was a known bug. I have done some digging and I have not found any mods or other factors that cause this exact issue.
Just in case, did you try to take the locos up and put them back down again? The IT-Crowd solution fixes a lot of problems!
