It is top-down 2D with each machine supposed to not take too much place on screen so they might look a bit low res but it's still far above pixel art level of details.
Inserters are great because unlike in satisfactory where each machine needs a lot of resources per second, factorio's machines take a few items per loop and only produce one item at once for most recipes.
As a result, you can feed a lot more machines with a single belt and inserters make this process much cleaner than rows of splitters.
Both games are very different, factorio focuses on having a few base pieces to make a factory as large as you like.
If you like how satisfactory handles things, especially around power and research then it's fine to play that game but factorio is by no mean a "poor man's satisfactory", it's a game that stands strong on its own (and arguably there wouldn't be a satisfactory if factorio had not proven that the market for these game is not only there but even pretty large).
LOOK AT THE HEADLINE :)
Factorio can be bought directly at factorio.com, without the need for a Steam account.
On another have a some way to go when compared to Factorio. Recent update made building easier but It still have a some issues that need to be solved.
You are correct.
Replay value is a huge plus in favor of Factorio over Satisfactory which make Factorio a better deal over Satisfactory.
Second, Satisfactory lacks a lot of the complexity and QOL of Factorio. Unless they added it in things like bots and blueprints make Factorio great.
Third, Building a factory in Satisfactory feels like a chore, in Factorio it's fun. You don't have to worry about connecting everything perfectly in a 3D world and all the moving around.
Satisfactory gameplay wise is nowhere near as good as Factorio. Satisfactory however does offer a really nice amount of eye candy.
