With oil, you should be able to make Synthetic Wood, if you've gotten that far.
Wood goes into a factory which outputs seedlings, which go into a greenhouse which produces wood and a few leftover saplings. (requires glass to build; smelt some quartz.)
As the greenhouses are really slow, you can pretty much use one factory to support several greenhouses.
4 greenhouses should be just enough to get you to blue science unless you're fast.
Hmm, I tried those out actually and it wasn't working out for me. I feel like the numbers were off? I'm at work now so I can't check but I feel like it was 10 saplings make 4 wood, but you'd need 4-5 wood to get 10 samples. I assumed it was either broken or needed readjusting...?
Perhaps I'm mistaken, I'm still pretty new to this all >.<
10 saplings makes 10 wood+4 saplings on average. 1 wood makes an average of 1.5 saplings.
If you've got different numbers, you may have some sort of harder crafting mod installed, in which case you'll need to unlock fertilizer to utilize the 10 saplings+fertilizer->30 wood+7.5 saplings, as that should still give you a net return.
...either that or you got unlucky.
Does anyone knows how to install that Trefarm-Lite mod? I cant because of a error message that doesnt have a version on it, but it´s on the list of mods to choose anyway.
Thanks

And if this DOESN'T work, it's because you have some sort of harder crafting mod running in the background; ergo, you will need to unlock fertilizer before you can run this with a net gain.
Note the wood->additional saplings on the left.
Note that my filter inserters are taking advantage of bob's inserter configurability.
Essentially what you need are three things:
1 A chest for saplings that feeds back into the greenhouse with a fast inserter to take priority.
2 A "buffer" for wood to be turned into extra saplings, without fertilizer you will never produce enough to refill the greenhouse. The slowest inserter going from assembler to greenhouse here so the above takes priority.
3 Seperate the saplings and wood coming out of the greenhouse with smart inserters. (that part is duh)
I personally spread them out and give them their own saplings and wood buffers, but that's your choice...I play on peaceful so I can see space being an issue otherwise. Avoiding bottlenecks with taking product out of greenhouses and running out of saplings can be annoying otherwise.
I was so annoyed with the random thing I edited the recipes to knock it off.
You can scale it up-down pretty much infinitely.
Not true: yes, sapling production is kind of random and annoying, but you will always produce more, then consume and excess wood goes onto bus.
