Green water?
In the trailers(and editor) there's a green swamp-like variant of water? I've never seen any in my 300+ hours of factorio, is it just not included in the map generation yet? Or does water turn green maybe once it's been in heavy pollution for long enough? Haven't actually tested that.(Like how trees start to wither from being pollution).

Matbe you're seeing the night vision effect? Haven't run into any green water...

I think that green water isn't in the game yet. I've seen the trailer too.

The devs are adding new biome types, so it might go in when they add those, or perhaps it is an old feature no longer in the game.

I saw that green swamp water in one of the campaign levels, 2 days ago on the latest experimental build.

It's not a bug or a glitch. Open the ingame map editor, you'll see it available in there. It's just not included in the map generation yet for whatever reason, perhaps for future biomes like katherine mentioned.

Yeah, the last Campaign level features withered Trees and Green Water while you have to defend against waves of Behemoths to buy time to make your Biplane/whatever.

You won't find green water in freeplay. It was introduced in 0.8.x (December 2013) and since then is used in campaign levels, but it was only used in freeplay in 0.8.x versions because in 0.9.0 biomes were added.
You can use the map editor to add green water to maps, e.g for your own scenarios.

It doesn't really differ much from blue water except that green water does absorb pollution a little less.
