Space Exploration - stuck in space??
OK, so I did sth really stupid. Went to asteroid belt to start on some beryl mining. Miscalculated the fuel needed to ship the rocket back, so that one's not leaving. Capsule takes me only to some random planet, I was assuming it always brings me home to Nauvis... So, what the hell do I do now, and how comes noone else on internet had the same issue, am I missing sth?
All autosaves are already in space, as I took my sweet time starting the outpost...

I think there's an auto death function? Pack all your belongings into a chest and die.

Alternatively, instruct Nauvis to load up the next cargo rocket with lots of fuel and anything else you might possibly need. Then send it to the asteroid belt....you'll need to do that to get your body anyway so it saves the gruesomeness.

For future planning, look to see where the capsule will take you and consider making that planet/moon a future colony.

Lastly, how is the asteroid belt? I can't bring myself to start mining because the ones I've found nearby look unimpressive. I found an acceptable planet that claims to have beryl so I'll heading there soon.

Ah yes, the autorespawn indeed!
I don't think I can instruct the rocket from the space... It's loading stuff now, but based on what I set up in combinator on Nauvis, plus didn't even set it on autolaunch. I will check it again, but I guess I will just need to do another round trip.
I have a lot of beryl on that asteroid belt, plus some uranium, so will try to get it going. Now I am thinking I went totally unprepared, how will I get the fuel there for steady deliveries of beryl back to Nauvis? How will I get a capsule there every time? I need to think that all through..
I think for first outpost planet would be much easier to setup vs asteroid belt. I went for that one as wanted some place with no biters, and that was the only peaceful and beryl full place.

Alternate with a bot base can you use N to load a rocket with all needed stuff and send it to your location to build up a new rocket but deat is faster

I still haven't landed on my Beryl planet yet; it's within my starting solar system at 17% threat while Nauvis is listed as 33% maybe you have an equivalent? (Went nuts and launched like 50 nav satellites before even building a cargo rocket.)

Consider saving your packing list--recreating it from scratch every time leads to forgotten essentials. (Forgetting the cargo landing site is another fun cleanup project)

Then I guess I would go for it with 17%, my other beryl option has unfortunately 67% threat:P It's not so much of an issue in therms of killing them, but wanted to have my first outpost peaceful to just be able to focus only on strategy and not bothering with biters for a while..
Btw did you see we also need cryonite to get to beryl ingot/plate?:) I don't even know how to make those outposts, do I need to send a rocket there to be able to send one back, or is there other way to get rocket parts and fuel... Honestly I'm a bit stuck, need to think that all through. Let me know if you have any better ideas!

I kind of figured it out. (for now) Since capsule from belt took me to Legogene, which in my case is no biters, similar to Nauvis resources planet (plus tiny bit of Holminite for the future), I set up a rocket fuel base there, that will supply asteroid belt with fuel and rocket parts.
So it will work like this:
Rocket from Nauvis full of rocket parts (packed) and some capsules go to Legogene.
Legogene loads some packed parts, unpacks 100 for the rocket, puts some extra capsules and fills rest of the cargo with barrelled rocket fuel that I produce there.
When landing pad in the aster. belt is empty, rocket goes there, supplying rocket there with rocket parts, capsules and fuel, so that rocket full of beryl can launch (few times) to Nauvis.
When stuff runs out, the process starts again from Nauvis.
Good I wrote it here as I just discovered some lacks in my process, that I need to fix:)
I still needed to kill myself on Legogene, as I didn't bring enough rocket parts, it's impossible to take what you need one time, even if I write stuff down :D I am headed there now to fix up the process.

If I'm not mistaken, shipping solid fuel is more compact than barrels of liquid fuel but will require fuel refineries at the location. Why not empty the landing pad when stuff arrives? Maybe you'll want to be receiving from multiple locations?

You will need cryonite to process the beryl completely. (For my part, I have a cryonite planet going already and will probably ship it direct from there to the beryl world) Sounds like you're on track to solar system domination.

Getting there step by step..
For now I will still produce much more fuel, then I can supply both places with rocket parts and capsules, so those still will be a bottleneck, not fuel.
So how did you setup your cryonite planet? Dose it produce everything to launch a rocket, or you supply it from Nauvis? It seems like a big investment to have new planet producing rocket parts, esp without much of blueprints.

In general for all the planets, Nauvis supplies the finished products (rocket parts, landing pads, belts, bots, etc) and each planet will send back refined raw materials (iron plates, cryonite rods, holminite ingots, etc). Nauvis will then do further construction or redistribute those materials as needed. Therefore my cryonite planet ships to Nauvis cryonite rods as well as the iron plates, copper plates, coal, etc. generated from the core drill.

For non-Nauvis locations that use a large amount of a resource, they get a direct shipment: my cryonite planet also ships direct to Nauvis orbit where my thermofluid is produced in bulk.

I haven't decided how to handle cryonite slush yet: it simply hasn't felt urgent to resolve that. Some items like rocket fuel, steel and uranium can usually be done easily but I'm lazy about blueprinting properly and have other priorities.
