Also im a bit confused by your question as there is copper wire coil which is a dense form of copper wire and copper sheet coil which is dense form of copper plate.
You can make copper wire from copper plate made from copper sheet coil, but cannot make plate or sheet coil from wire coil, so if you are planning on coiling at least do the sheet coil.
Yes, you are right. I totally forgot/didnt notice that you cant make plates out of coils. Im thinking its best to have both on the bus.
Sheets are good when you need plates, coils are good when you need a lot of wires.
For now ill stick with only with sheets until i build a larger smelting area.
No, by sheets i mean sheet coils. In Bob/Angel mods you can make sheet coils of various types of resources. For iron for example, you can make plates but you can also make iron sheet coils which essentially are compressed iron plates so you can fit more onto a belt with the added downside that you need to "unpack" these sheets into plates where you need to.
