Blueprints and books
Been away from the game for a bit, and I'm having some trouble with the changes in the way blueprints and books are handled.

Last time I played, you had your blueprint library that was available from game to game. You could drag a blueprint or a book to your inventory for easy access. It would essentially create a copy, but it remained in the library. Now it seems if you do that, it *moves* it out of the library and into your inventory. This definitely doesn't work for me, and I have to believe there's a way around this, like shift-click and drag or something.

Also, I can't figure out how to create blueprint books. I don't know if dementia is setting in, but I really thought there was some sort of "create book" button that I'm not seeing now.

You are not supposed to have blueprints or books in your inventory. You are supposed to just put a shortcut in your shortcut bar(the thing at the bottom) directly pointing to the blueprint in the blueprint library. Just remember that if you edit or delete a blueprint(from the blueprint edit menu) that is in your shortcut bar it will delete the blueprint from your blueprint library. I believe there is a way to copy a blueprint if you really want to but I'm not sure how that is done atm.

To make a copy, you right click the blueprint/book, it should be among the buttons there.

Why not? I keep hearing horror stories about blueprints being deleted so I always reserve one item slot to safely store them in my inventory.

This is the intended way as far as I'm aware. Just because some people don't understand the UI or the intent does not change that.

This is what I do. I create a copy of the blue print and put it in my inventory so that I don't accidentally delete it from my book.

Thanks. Probably the one thing I didn't try.
