This game really needs aircrafts!
This game really needs aircrafts and i mean vanilla, not mods (i know there are mods over there)... It doesn't make sense to launch a rocket into space and not even having any sort of aircraft (be a helicopter or a plane/jet). Not only does it make no sense, but it also take quite a long time to cruise long distance with a car or tank or spidertron.

This i feel is necessary, but some nice additions too would be:
- Aquatic transports
- Jetpacks
- Better map reveal technologies, i.e. futher reach, better speed, real time (maybe satellites)

By no means does it mean i dislike this game, i actually love it and could play it for a very long time. But i just hope the developers don't stop launching stuff into the game just because we are on version 1.0+, quality of life improvement is nice and all but it doesn't beat some new content now that the game is already launched.

It sounds like you have a rigid and narrow view of what this game can and should be. Maybe you can make your own game? Or make the perfect mod for this... wait, that violates your existing ideal that only the developer should make your version of the perfect version of this game :-/

I personally think a jetpack would be badass and would download a mod for one if it exists! I've already seen one mod that gives you aquatic vehicles. I think that is another great idea that you can, right now, within minutes, be playing :-D
And further reach and better reveal (like more radars and research for them) exist as well :-)
And Satellites? Maybe that one is a bit silly... Wait, no it isn't! The Expanded Rocket Payloads mod does exactly that and possibly more than you can already imagine, giving you loads more of fun, challenge, depth and functional products to work/play for!

I like all of the other suggestions as well :-) The base game already gives you billions of possibilities for unique maps, that you already have control of in the creation process. I personally like the Rail-World settings. I'd have to look, but an ocean or island world may already be in the options. I think that would add an interesting dynamic to the game. Mods give even more possibilities for awesomeness :-D Many of them make it way to complicated and difficult for my tastes and feeble brain to wrap around. so I choose not to play those. Many add really simple quality of life tweaks and features that helps me enjoy the game so much more, and stress so much less. (Example: How do you tell if a single assembler or oven is not loading properly, when your whole screen is filled with hundreds of them? The Bottleneck mod allows you to see how your machines are functioning at a glance. Perfectly Reasonable and stress reducing :-)

I think if you take some time to check them out, you will be floored by the already existing quality mods, and how much they will enhance your experience of an already great game :steamhappy:
I like mods i used to add lots of mods in Skyrim, because they didn't change the base game, the added contenet (mostly armor and weapons mods, but others too, albeit, not frequent).
About making a mod i thought about this, but then i discovered there are certain limitations for some kinds of mods (like tileset number, or something along these lines, which is hard coded, making it hard or impossible to find a work around) and this game is really mod friendly already, imagine if it wasn't. So, i don't like to play by other developers rules, i might create something, but then run into a wall i can't escape or will be hard as hell because of hard code (which wouldn't be if it was an open source game).

About making a game, i might be making something... who knows... =/

The question begs, why can't i ask for the developer to make something? Especially when i did not found something i'm looking for in the mods section? I already saw those planes before, this is not exactly what i'm looking for. I'm asking for the developers, not for moders because i feel they have a better vision of what the base game should look like or not already. I could do it myself, but i don't wanna start down on this path of modding a game just to be frustated by hard code again (playing by limiting rules), i could do the plane thing without running into any barriers probably, but i know myself and i would keep churning out mods out for other things sooner or later.

I don't get it, people kinda of like the ideas, maybe not agreeing to everything. Agree it would be fun to have but don't want me to ask for the developers...

If you want the devs to change /add/rebalance/whatever something, the steam forums is the wrong tree to bark up

The squeaky wheel gets the grease!
Download the mods, use the mods, discuss how these desired features could be implemented. What did you like? What worked? What didn't work? Is flying really the best option for unhindered movement?
Are you looking for some kinda flight sim? Why planes?

There is a jetpack mod btw
https://mods.factorio.com/mod/jetpack

It seems to me that right now, the development is focussed on making the game as user friendly as possible. There has been loads of new and adjusted features to the train system for example.
