Banned from official discord by corrupt mod/admin

Was having a political discussion with someone who i assume has some sort of power on the discord because he got audiably angry after a statement and I got banned. Just fyi i never posted anything on the discord that breaks the rules or discord tos and everything i said in that discussion didnt voilate rules or tos either.

Love the game, its devs, and its understandable for it to be hard to prevent corruption on discord servers. but I just wanted to put this info out so some people know what they are getting into when joining that server.

Politics is always a touchy subject. I don't think it'd be good to name names, and i'm glad you didn't do that yet.

I don't think there's anything I can do to help. Maybe if the discord admin/mod was officially part of the company, I'd suggest talking to one of them directly. Or talk to one of them even if the mod isn't an employee.

*shakes head* I don't use discord myself, so I don't know how mods are determined.

In today's environment discussing politics or religion is going to lead to a ban if the group you support isn't the "right" one unless you control the platform. Bast advice is to not discuss those subjects, at least if you want to be able to discuss anything else. Yes, its not fair but that's the time we live in. People can't discuss things rationally anymore they can only be offended. That's why I tend to refer to those platforms as anti-social media.

Is anyone surprised? Since most kids don't get well deserved scoldings any more, they can't handle any kind of altercation. Then we get that which most of us fear, oppression. Go figure!

I'm not posting this for help, just for the info to be out there. I wont name anyone because I don't want anyone harassed.

I think he's done this before judging on his attitude so I think other mods already know about this behavior but cant find a solution or its some rare occurrence in either case you cant blame someone for having a bad day and it sounded like he had one before even getting on vc. Also the discussion was "started" via his questions, as I agree politics is a bad thing to talk about in general around people you don't know.

Another note is that he also sounded very young so he might just not be mentally equipped for this role at that age to add an top of any context I didnt have at the time, I cant blame him too much.

If he's reading this, this isnt any sort of attack, I do hope you manage your anger better later on, and the only reason this post is so long is because I'm bored I don't hate you or anything.

I can foresee a scenario where someone keeps pushing a political argument beyond the point of discussion and into the area of shouting matches. That in that scenario if the mods cant get the person to calm down they will remove them from the discord. Moderation is about the whole community over the individual if done right. If done wrong it becomes a way of only reinforcing the in group.

I'm pretty sure it was a child which explains the anger also good point is that he was shouting while i was stating my beliefs calmly. It was a very one sided act of aggression on his part as I'm usually never one to talk over people or talk too loudly.
