Since the game is locked to 60 FPS (until your UPS goes under that at least) higher refresh rate monitors can make it feel a bit uncomfortable, especially if it is among the cheaper ones instead of the high-end products.
I have a good Samsung that goes 144hz, you might be on something because in my tv when i played i didn't have this issue, is there not a way to unlock or lock fps or something, its okay i can deal with it, its just a bit less enjoyable.
Maybe tweak with your monitor's settings or with your graphics card's drivers, there might be something to fit 60 FPS better.
Obviously that will only work if your monitor actually supports it.
If so: Get a little more distance to the monitor and get a light source behind the screen.
If you are using fluorescent lights in your computer area you should switch to full spectrum lighting such as LED or incandescent bulbs that eliminate the 60Hz (50 Hz in countries not in the Americas) flicker of fluorescent lights.
When I get a better monitor, I'd like to make sure it's a kind that won't make me hate Factorio...
