Blueprints for early mid-game?
I'be got my end-game blueprints all set, but I find I get way behind the curve because I don't have decent blueprints for getting a smaller temporary factory to churn out grey and blue research. Can anyone give me some tips on getting to this point? I'd like to rush to laser turrets and the construction bots, but it takes me forever to get there because I don't have space to spare.

The best tip I have is to practice in a late/end game world, trying various configurations until you find something you can be happy with.
Everyone has different requirements so you know best what you want to prioritize between cost, size, efficiency and production.

There are tools to help you figure out how many machines you need for a specific output minute.
For example, a mod called helmod (it has the benefit of also working when using mods that add/alter content):
https://mods.factorio.com/mod/helmod
Or a website like this one:

But really you usually don't want to be caring about space in the early/mid game unless you are in a deathworld or some similar setting where space is pretty limited.
By the point you are doing blue science packs, you could already have trains going, meaning that you already have a lot more options when it comes to the usage of space.

Playing a solo deathworld game can really help you think about good designs and creating better solutions. The world is less forgiving, so it forces you to make better decisions.
I would always recommend creating your own blueprints, but playing a little online might help you with new ideas and configurations.

For some pointers, create small blue prints, that are simple and can be expanded if necessary. Design them with a main bus in mind, so your not having to produce the same items time and time again. If your designing malls for items, use smaller ones for set groups eg assemblers/inserters, as opposed to one massive one. gl
Nilaus has all ready done this for you. Check out his channel on Youtube.

If you're constantly dealing with bugs attacking you, how can you get going?

By being more efficient with your resources, time and space as well as learning how to mitigate your pollution while rushing for everything you need to get flamethrower turrets going (including getting rid of nests that are preventing you from getting to the oil).

Military technologies also become quite important since gun turrets get a much larger bonus from bullet damage (damage increases for the bullet and the turret so it quickly makes turrets much better than you at firing them).
