Netflix cause my game to stutter
Netflix caused my game to stutter every second without fail and the second I closed the tab it would stop and the solution I found was to use the Netflix App(On windows 10 atleast). Not sure if this is a common problem but there you have a solution atleast if anyone else struggle with it aswell. PS: Specs I7-8700k@4.7 Ghz, 16gig ram@3000mhz, 1080ti and installed on an SSD so I don't think this is the issue. It also stutters with brand new world without biters and netflix not even playing anything.

You use dual monitors? Netflix causes my second monitor to display snow, so I can't use both at the same time.

Monitor CPU usage. Netfix, or any high quality video really, requires a good bit of CPU time to decode the stream.

If you have a beefy CPU with lots of cores/threads, you can use processor affinity to lock the Netflix app to 1-2 dedicated logical processors and it won't interfere with games and other apps you run.

Netflix and factorio, so that you can use all the extra attention not used by factorio?

But seriously, cpu usage usually causes slow framerates whereas vram issues usually cause stuttering, try either program using a lower quality.

It was just stuttering by default, New world without bites would have same stutter as one of my bigger saves so don't think CPU load is the problem.

It runs 60fps/ups but still stutters when using netflix on chrome/Firefox and my 11gb of Vram should be enough for Factorio. I can watch 4k 60fps youtube videos and use the netflix app without any stutter so it must be the website. All this doesnt matter now since I just use the app instead, this post was mostly made for others who might search for a fix for netflix cuasing stuttering.

Is there a setting in the netflix web player where you can tell it which codec to use?
If so try forcing it to use H.264 and see if that makes a difference.

You might also test it using edge browser and see if that makes any difference.

On my nvidia 960 and amd 6300, youtube in 1080p causes stutters/slower fps in overwatch. Best fix is likely to use chrome, firefox or edge. Otherwise your specs or windows ain't having what your giving it.

Me personally could never get win 10 netflix app to work. It takes like 1000000000 years to load a video.

No i was saying on worse specs with one monitor have had comparable problems.

sry I somehow missed "It also stutters with brand new world without biters and netflix not even playing anything."

My advice is look at load on task manager and post this in the technical problems section might be more likely to get help.

Could also try setting factorio to run as admin, setting priority to high.... sorry don't know how i missed end of the post.
