Disable that menu animation

Upon updating to 1.1, this animation in the main menu is driving me knots, is there a way to disable it, I only managed to reduce the sound.

Replace Factorio/data/base/menu-simulations/menu-simulations.lua with the following:

local menu_simulations = {}
return menu_simulations

I like the animation at the main menu once you launch the game, but once i start choosing settings and menus i would prefer it turning off, or switching to like a safe factory slowly panning, cause it can be distracting, as my brain interprets "my base" is being demolished in the background

Oooooor ... there is checkbox for it in graphics settings (out of all places ... I couldn't find it either)

In the graphics settings there is a checkbox that disables the simulation of the game in the background.
