Can't nuke from a safe distance.
I'd swear I used to be able to fire nukes as far as I could see, safe from the enemy. Now I need to come within spitting range in order to launch nuke which makes it for imprecise aiming as I'm rushing to get away, because before I manage to launch nuke with space bar or C they're already chasing and spitting at me. Am I doing something wrong?
I basically am not using nukes, because not only they have ridiculously small radius for such a powerful weapon, on top of that I can't do it the way I would like. At this point in game I don't think it should matter much if it's "fair" to them or not. I just want to move on quickly.

That's not what I'm looking for. Spidertron will just pour rather expensive stash of weapons indiscriminately. and probably put me in danger of blowing myself up (unless there is a way of manual targeting which I couldn't find so far)

i just give it 1 nuke at a time you almost never need more than 1.

Then I know Spidetron does what it wants. It's not exactly mind reader. And his wants won't exactly align with mine.

you can disable automatic firing mode in spidertron and fire rockets manually

also having some exoskeletons helps with running, atom bombs always had somewhat short range in relation to explosion radius

I know I can disable it, but how do you fire manually in controlled manner from inside the Spidetron or even remotely?

Exoskeleton I have it balanced for what I need. I don't feel like swapping all the time depending on "occasion".

like you do every single weapon. With spacebar.

to the loadout swapping - I don't like it either, people usually have several powersuits in the inventory, one for construction, one for fast movement, one for biter defence etc. You can also have couple of spidertrons for different use cases

You must be doing something strange because enemies don't really start chasing you until you get close enough to be hit by their worms, at which point you are well within nuking range.

The nuke range has always been slightly less than the explosion radius so you are very much expected to fire, run, and tank a couple of hits if necessary.
Drive a car toward the nest. When you get near turn around and back toward the nest until the nearby worms pop out of the ground, get out of the car, launch the nuke, get back in the car and drive like mad. That's what I do if I'm too lazy to change out of my building armor or if I left my battle armor back at the main base.
