what to do with burner mining drill once i switch to electric?
its my first time playing the game, but i feel like mining is going to switch to electric once you have the resources to do so. but my question is, what to do with this burner one? can you reassemble them or something? because if not i feel like its just eating spaces with no use

Without mods, The burner mining drills are the only item in the game that never really has a use after you go beyond it. It's not used in any recipes and is completely outmoded by the electric drills. So just throw them in a chest and shoot the chest till it breaks- the contents will vanish and you wont have to carry them anymore.

Put them in a box and blow it up.

They're useless after you get electric drills.

I think it was c, not space.

Or throw grenades at the chest.
Why grenades? Cause explosions are great. xD

I don't understand why people feel that obsolete items must be completely removed from existence. Just keep a box someplace and call it your trash bin. Put burner miners and small telephone poles. You do not *have* to explode it.

Fun fact: The small wooden power poles could be burnt and used for fuel up to version 0.16. Starting with 0.17 this was no longer the case :(

I, too, always keep my old stuff. One day, while rummaging through robot storage I'll see those old burner miners and get all nostalgic!

Wrong, totally wrong!
The first rule of videogaming is, and has always been: more explosions = good!

If explosions are an option => do it; if not => make them an option.

Use them as an additional wall against the biters.

wish anything could be recycled as boiler fuel when no longer needed. kinda like how the k*urig coffee cups are recycled in real like as biofuel.

You can download a mod that recycles things like this. Then you can get the resources back as well as destroying it in the process.

Can use them along borders of ore fields to clear out the margins. Fill with coal, hook up to a chest, refill and empty chest into main line every now and then. Sometimes less annoying to setup than setting up a filtering belt.

You don't need to vacuum your home either but most sane people prefer not living in a garbage dump.

Yes, why place one splitter once when you can keep coming back to refuel the miners by hand which is what all automation games are about after all.

I use burners alongside electric inserters on my boilers so they can jumpstart things if power goes down for whatever reason.
