Disappearing items

I have noticed sometime when I click on an item in my inventory it will disappear. Has anyone else had this problem?

Are you perhaps holding shift?

When you have another inventory (chest, machine, vehicle) open it transfers the stack, if you are just in the inventory but unlocked the trash slots it sends the items there.

If it is replaced by a "hand" symbol it's because you have "picked" the item, clicking again should swap it or drop it back depending on where in the inventory you click.

If you have no other inventory open but your own, shift-click sends the item to your logistics trash slot. You must click on the other tabs up top to change over to logistics, and the item may be hiding over there. Even if you have no robots, items can end up hiding there. I only discovered this myself when I wondered how the hell 2 stacks of gears made it into a storage container for my furnace train loaders. It seems I had clicked 2 stacks into my trash slots ages ago.

Ok, thanks guys. I would have nothing else open and then click on a stack of something and then poof! gone
