Lazy Baaa-stard run questions. Please no spoilers!
I started a lazy B.a.s.t.a.r.d run and have 2 questions:

1. Will it work in peaceful mode?

2. Is there a way to find out how many items you have hand crafted, so you know if you have gone over the limit? Like a counter to show the count so far?

I don't want to know HOW to do it as I want to figure it out myself... Its half the fun of the game, imho.

it should work in peaceful mode, and you can (i dont know how) enable the achievement to be tracked in the top left of your screen.

btw, good luck.

Thanks for confirming the first part. Have not been able to figure out the second yet.

Ahh, found it. Go to achievments, find the one you want to track, and there is a tiny icon-button to press.

Hmmm 5 out of 111. I only made 2 items so far. I guess they count the stuff you start with?

it counts every single item you have hand crafted yourself, including things like iron gears and copper wire.

Start the game in peaceful mode, click on the "Achievements" button on the top right.

Achievements that are unavailable in peaceful mode will be disabled and have text "can't be unlocked in peaceful mode" on them. Lazy b is enabled.

You can track an achievement by clicking the small magnet icon on the bottom right of that achievement's card.

Good luck!

Edit: Ninja'd, like, four times :)

I think is is correct then...

I crafted 1 axe and one wood chest. It counted as 5 items. My guess is:

raw wood -> wood counts as 2, then the axe itself cost 1 = 3 items total.... :-(

The axe cost 1 to make iron poles and 1 to make the axe = 2 items total.

total = 5 items..... This is going to HARDER than I thought :D

@HoneyBadger. If you get frustrated, there is a Steam Guide.

I admire your desire to puzzle it out yourself -- good luck!

I figure it will take a few tries to work it out. I will see if I can afford the luxury of a wood box. At a cost of 1, its worth it, but a cost of 3......I will see how the rest of it goes.

I like the challenge of working it out for myself, once I know the rules and how to see if I am still on track.

I am watching you new guide for going toward a mega base now, and it is very enjoyable and informative. Thanks for doing it!

Good luck :) Just remember there is no time limit so take your time :) It is by far my fav of the harder achievements.

You can use your starting furnace as an ad-hoc chest, just place it right next to a miner.

Be very careful not to accidentally hand craft anything, you can use your first assembler to make all intermediate products required [and any wooden chests].
I have seen others advise to remap the crafting key to ctrl-LMB instead of just LMB.

The start is a bit grindy, but it gets much easier later on. GL!

To be honest, this is the only achievement left that I have any interest in myself. The rest are all the rush-timing ones and I can never be bothered with that.

But I agree - I would figure it out on my own. Nothing worse than a bunch of people saying "You have to follow this guide to the letter", takes all the fun out of the game.

(Personally, I didn't want to spend hours then realize I messed up, so I followed this helpful guide, and finally got the achievement last week. (Thank you for the guide!))

But for those who don't want specifics, just note that you start off very slowly, since you want to keep the hand-crafting to the minimum. The guide also suggests that you may want to change your keybinds for for crafting to something weird (like Shift+Mouse 4) so you don't craft accidentally. Also, save somewhat often, with different saves (and keep a note of your total craft count).

I'm going to recommend saving your game frequently. You could name them things like "50 crafts remaining" and "only 10 crafts left" so you can always rewind and try again.
