Can't Link account to Steam

I purchased Factorio yesterday, I tried to download a mod but I need to link my account to steam.

However when I click sign in on steam, I get incorrect login.

On the factorio site in my profile, I click Link with my Steam account.

Comes up with the Steam page "Sign into www.factorio.com using your Steam account"
Has my profile pic with a green sign in button underneath

I click sign in & the page reloads with "Incorrect login"


I have tried clicking the not you & re signing in, but I still get Incorrect login
I've tried it on Chrome (Default browser) & Microsoft Edge, still get Incorrect login



Anyone have any ideas?

That sounds really odd. E-mail [e-mail] and the devs might be able to help you. (Send them your steam profile link/id, but NOT your password).

Just purchased it today and have the same thing going on as well. Even changed my password because I thought it was the usual BS from Steam not identifying if the problem of the login being incorrect password or the very idiotic pictograph boxes where the letters are almost unidentifiable.

Edit: Did it with all 3 main browsers, FF-Chrome-Edge No Change Was wondering if I had an occount on Factorio already through my sons account that uses the same username

Last edit: Changed the screen name for my sons account on the Factorio website thinking it may be a problem and created account for me. Still a nogo. Email sernt as well

Got an email back from Factorio,
" it appears to be an error on Steams side with their OpenID system" which steam has to fix.

But I tried it again & it worked.
So I'm not sure if I needed to wait overnight for something to reset or if factorio poking around fixed it somehow.


Either way I'm off to find mods

I got the same message from factorio but got a message from steam as well that said it can take a few hours for a game to link to an extrenal site depending on the time of the week and any planned maintaince on the servers. Bought the game last night and it linked with no problem this morning. I got the emails after the successful linkup of course.

I have a similar problem, all though accounts are linked, login and passwords are "not correct"
