Your map might generate - OK
(ofc.this is going to take some time...up to 20 min. depending on your machine, but mostly it should take less time)...
Then you can play and do things around absolutely - OK
You can even save the game manually or let the autosave do the job ( but again takes lots of time because of the SAVE size and there should be some sort of data compression implemented!) - PARTIALY OK
You cannot exit back to the menu, because if you do, the game throws either error regarding being unable to load sprite or sprites or simply the game crashes or if you have faulty sectors on HDD i do not see a reason why your windows could not crash...such large map uses up to 6-7gigs of ram. - ABSOLUTELY NOT OK, BUG
Could someone please report this to official developer's forum too? So it gets fixed.
As for "someone else". I was playing with a friend and im hoping one of their autosaves will work, if they can send me the .zip of it. Im pretty sure they have an autosave of the game before it did this. They werent in game when i did it.
AND NO once you tell the game to reveal the map, there is no going back. It is unstoppable. You can hide it again, but it will still be generated and use upwards of 8GB of ram and crash your pc :)
Oh and as for deleting chunks, im afraid to open the save again, Im kinda sick of watching my desktop crash.
