I like designing things so I barely use blueprints.
As a direct result I have been playing mostly with mods since quite a long time ago.
I started with Dytech, added bob's mods, then replaced dytech by angel when dytech started to die off and angel came out as a very good complement to bob and since that time I have been mostly using bob+angel as my base, with plenty of other mods on and off to spice things.
I was blown away on how completely different seablock felt even while already knowing the mods it uses outside of the seablock itself so I had most of my fun with that recently (on and off for the last year and half, definitely not on a single map all that time).
If/when I come back more heavily to factorio I intend on doing a py playthrough without bob and angel to make it somehow easier but I keep pushing it back because that mod is not something to tackle half-heartedly.
Segwaying into not worrying about things, making solar farms in desert land and cracking down on every biter nest anywhere that is even remotely visible is something I like to do. Sadly the game punishes you for the later.
I usually also enrich the resources a bit, just to compliment the bitter settings. I keep telling myself to use Bob's mod with Angel, but after 2200 hours I still enjoy the vanilla game.
I play mostly vanilla.
I need a threat to motivate me, so deathworld marathon as a base setting to tweak on every new game.
I try to optimise enough,
but not to ocd levels.
I eyeball a lot of ratios and I try to keep it simple when making complex things.
I try to make use of each tech in some way or another in different bases or different games. (I still have so many ways to play and mods to try too.. i must find some time for it)
It was also a standard world, biters and regular resource gen and all.
My turn i guess lol.
I'm kind of a role player at times. Like one time did a deathworld game imagining it as 40k and were desperately trying to get crusual resources off planet to help the main war and the bugs are basically lesser tyranids. I use a lot of weapon and defence mods to give a sense that each base is a giant bunker with armored armed trains moving supplies.
Otherwise i like to make a bunch of small bases that make a specific harder to make item then have them go into a large endgame style base. I never stress on over optimising but still try to be efficient. If it flows good i like it.
With co-op when I'm able to get people to play i love organizing like.
Player 1 make ammo town that will supply all the bases with ammo and defences. Player 2 make gas town and preps the main fuel lines. Player 3 and 4 make a strong core base that can support the building of a big base in a highly defendable location.
Sometimes also use quick start mods when feeling more lazy and want to get things moving.
