What do you use an Alien artifacts for?
i heard that artifacts was removed from vanilla, but i installed bob's enemies and it reenabled them. but i did'nt see anything that make use of it. is there a separate mod that enable their use?

oh and also im using bob's enemies alongside krastorio, so it's the only bob mod i have active since krastorio is not compatible with much of bob's stuff

I'm pretty sure you need other mods from bob to have a use for the artifact, but you can go to the mod settings to disable them if you don't want to clog your inventory with them.

They used to be used for high level research.
They were pretty trivial compared to every other science pack since 1 artifact worked out to 10 science packs...

The only thing I really miss about the artifacts was seeing them laying on the ground. It was a reminder that the area was the site of a large battle that I won! Even dozens of hours later, and well behind my expanding perimeters, I would see the extra artifacts and think, "I remember beating the pulp out of those biters right HERE!".

Of course, earlier in the play through you needed every artifact you could get. But, later on I just left them on the ground. After all the research was done, they were only useful for the defender capsules IIRC.

There are other mods that use the alien artifacts but I know that one of the modules of bob mods allows you to build alien weaponry from it as well as offering an alternative way to make science packs out of.

If you like this idea (using the aliens to further your "economy":
Necromant enables you to grind up the corpses of aliens for their meat (which can be crafted into curatives), scales (which can be used to reinforce various defense items like armor and walls), brains (which can be further processed into DNA which can be used for the warfare science packs; which necromant will change).
Alien Loot economy will allow you to find alien ore (and uses the artifacts to); which can be refined into alien plates which, then, in turn can be refined into various alien specific items like Alien Modules (a module that grows more powerfull depending on how many aliens you've killed) and various other alien versions of basic items.

So, THAT'S why I plop down a single laser turret to farm biters off of a base! Up to 15K biters killed and millions of damage on that one turret!

yeah i used Alien loot economy, and the modules is OP af. it basically fix most of my endgame bottlenecks
