Adding items feels very awkward. In 0.16 this was a simple matter of shift-clicking things down to it but now you actually need to bring the pointer down to do anything with it as far as I can tell.
As for removing items... Yeah, I really prefer having new items (i.e. things I'm about to use) going to the quick-bar instead of it holding a reference to something I was building in the past but am no longer carrying.
I suppose this is just something to get used to over time (i.e. just build most things straight out of the inventory and only use the quick-bar for staples like belts and inserters?)
To address your wishes, I propose 3 simple solutions:
1) Make Shift-Clicking an item add a reference to the first open slot in the hotbar
2) Make Right-Click delete a reference in the toolbar
3) Give us a new item filter called "newest item" to place on a few slots in the hotbar and update them with the 'n' newest items, where 'n = number_of_those_slots_in_the_hotbar'
Any other options?
You are right. I had changed it to mouse button 4 time ago.... Thanks a lot.
