No Power Icon

Is there any way to turn off this icon? Right now, I'm working on a system which is purposefully without power part of the time. It's controlled by a power switch which linked to a time ticker logic. The "No Power" icon is very distracting and I would like to get rid of it. There's obviously some very cool things which could potentially be done with power switches and time tickers, but the power icon is somewhat of a cold shower on my ambitions. Heck, even when I'm working with blueprints, it gets annoying rather fast. I would much rather be able to turn it on as needed then have it show at all time.

replace 'electricity-icon-red.png' 'electricity-icon-unplugged.png' with a blank alpha png.

Not what I'm looking for, and in practice, the next time steam computes the checksum of that file, it's going to see that it's wrong and flag it for replacement. I don't want to eliminate the no power icon completly, as I, quite obviously, need to ensure that the factory I'm building is properly powered. I'm guessing from your answer that the option of being able to selectively turn it on or off does not exist in game.

as far as i can tell, there is no option to toggle it.

I wonder if its possible to make it not flash, using a cfg file or a mod perhaps? I bet that would solve the distraction annoyance

@OP There are a couple of mods that reduce the size & relocate the icon to the lower left of the structure ~ here.[mods.factorio.com] (I prefer the one with the round icons, but it needs to be manually DL & updated for 0.17)

Unfortunately, I don't think it is possible to stop the flashing. :(

What about adding another identical icon on top of structures without power, the original icon would flash, but you wouldnt see it disappear.
