cargo filter on trains
Hey, i noticed you can set a filter on a cargo slot but I'm struggling to figure out how to do this. From what I've gathered its the middle button on a mouse, which i do not have.

Any other ways to activte this or what I need to change in the key bindings?

The keybind is titled "toggle filter" i believe, you can use the search button on the keybind menu

One bit of advice, once you start setting filters make sure to use something that will never get loaded (like a rocket silo) for the unused slots... or your wagon will fill with garbage instead of the quantities you chose.

Thanks!

I was thinking of just putting them out of use. Should do the same thing?

A bit difficult to see at a glance if the slot is blocked, though.

For those playing 0.17, let me give you a better option: belt immunity equipment. It's essentially a large red X. I sometimes use it to block unused slots in trains, but mostly I use it to block the unused side of my "merge" splitters. It looks great :)

Both blocking the slots off & setting a null-filter will work. You can even use both methods, for a double-safe option.

@piccolo ~ nice idea to use the belt immunity. I have used the red deconstruction planner filter to do the same thing back in v0.16 ~ https://i.imgur.com/TdmJMAJ.png?1

1. touch pad isn't a mouse.. it's a touch pad..
2. touchpads normaly have 3 buttons below the touchpad.. the middle button is normaly the same like middle mouse.

Thanks for the great info zorz, I've never known that before.

It can be a harder at times, but I can't always be certain i can use a good surface for a mouse, so its just easier to use the touch pad.

have you herd of "cat" its basicly mouse who you roll a ball instead of moving it

(i think its called Trackball in english)

also good mousepad is not bad , if you want to combat "small size of deskspace" getting used to "very high mouse sensitivity" is also option my mouse can move from bottom of screen to top by just moving 1cm on desk

i also use small light cheap but good mouse logitech m90 , fits snuggly into my big hand

I'll have a look into it. I'm also travelling alot, so its not just desk space, but also carry space.

if you already got "laptop bag" device whos tinybit larger then mouse will fit , also track ball does not need any surface just "place to rest on

its another reaosn i like my m90 , i can take it with my laptop for traveling , its small
