I found full pyanodon to be harder by itself than paired with Angel/bob. Angel in particular adds so many ways to make things that are easier than the pyanodon way, that you'll probably just end up with an angel base without realizing it.
Like the title of my post says; I'm running Py-Hi-tech...not just Py. Though Metalurgical is handled by angel (mostly) and Chemical is handled by Bob (mostly) you will still need loads of Py-tech buildings to build the Py-hi-tech stuff like the deepdrills to get Nexelit, Phosphates, Niobium and the like and the py-smelters for stuff like Melanine and cyanic acids. So currently my base is a nice mix of production facilities between all three.
The problem arises (which the advised helmod doesn't cover nor doees FNEI) is not so much HOW to get certain stuff....that's easy enough...the problem lies that with Printed substrate 3, for example, you need 26 different production facilities to make it and (because of py) ALL of them produce "waste materials" (like coke or geodes for example) which means that by the time you have everything up and running and produce a nice amount of that what you were gunning for; you ALSO produce 50 different side-products.... some of which in such quantities that, if you're not carefull, you end up with thousands of in a matter of minutes. Sand, Crushed stone, coke, copper.... I've got dozens of warehouses full of the stuff with "nowhere" to go.
If I were to use to "put in a box and shoot it"-method; you're spending more time shooting warehouses into oblivion than actually fighting biters.
I had hoped veterans who play with all three of these mods had some tips on how to dump those excesses effectively but I guess people misunderstood the meaning of this thread and are, instead, giving me tips on how to GET the stuff I want instead of getting RID of excesses I DON'T want.
