C&P question

After a long time if have started playing Factorio again. I was surprised how much knowledge already left my brain. There is this copy / paste thing i just can't figure out. I watched youtube vids, googled but i can't find it anywere.
I can copy paste entities from buildings with shift right click en left click. But how do i copy entire buildings? I recollect that i could copy entire buildings (not only the entity). Another feature was that the game would automaticly give me the best building when clicking on ore.

You may be referring to blue prints, press "B". These allow you to drag an area copy and save it then place down a ghost copy of it.

You will need robots to automatically build it but these are not available at the start of the game unless you get mods.

You may be thinking of the "pipette tool" (that's how it's listed in Options->Controls). Press Q when hovering over a building or ore patch with an empty cursor.

You may also be thinking of the upcoming "copy/paste" tool the devs will implement in the next version, which is a kind of blueprint-related copy function that is instant and leaves no temporary blueprint behind.
