Building a large (mega) bus
OK, Im about 50 hours into a base. Granted thats not many hours, but ive got quite a bit of stuff automated already. Problem is, its all jacked up (spaghetti'd). Do I start over and plan more ahead being I have a general understanding now of how it works or do I leave it like it is and just start moving things to a new area and build from there?

I know when I see all these clean, nice and neat bases that there is no way it started off that way. Or did it? Like I said before, I know 50 hours isnt alot of time but dang, it sure seems like it, lol.

It's possible to start off with a small bus but they're eventually going to have to be removed to make room for a shiny new bus.
Construction bots make it possible to rip up entire sections of your factory and replace them with something else.

My current factory has a main bus producing everything and smaller areas producing certain products in huge amounts.
I ripped out my smelter arrays at least 5 times trying to get it right.

Yea maybe instead of starting over (and losing research) I just need to spend some time rearranging.

Or just leave what you have because it is serving a purpose and start a main bus setup in the opposite direction.

I'd suggest staying with it. Starting completely over resets your research.

In my current game I completely recycled my starter base after I made my main bus. And now I'm in the process of tearing that down as I switch over to train-based production.

Makes sense...NOT losing research is key i guess....thx!
