How to play Factorio without Steam?

I bought Factorio on Steam, and want to play it on another device that does not have steam on it and cannot download steam. It has internet access though.

I know that if you buy the game from the main site you get a key to download it on steam, but does it work the other way round? If I buy it on steam, can I download it from the website? If so, how?

I have Factorio on my gaming Pc, but I also have a laptop (really bad specs but can run the game) and I want to be able to move the save back and forth. How do I do this?


[Partially solved] So I logged in with my Factorio account onto the main website and downloaded the game. But how do I carry my saves over?

if you had sthe steam version on windows, you'll find the saves in %appdata%, with the mods, i don't think the non-steam version uses the same path since i have a copy just-in case and it doesn't share saves...
