Not really.

There's one in development (not released yet) called Satisfactory, but that's in 3D which I think will turn out to be a disadvantage (if only because it won't be able to handle such large factories).

Other games which involve conveyor belts include:
  • Infinifactory. But that's more of a puzzle game. You have to construct a factory which welds specific blocks together to form a specific shape which is then delivered to a specific point. You get scored based upon the total cost of the blocks used to construct the factory, the time taken deliver the required number of products, and the size (specifically, area footprint) of the factory.
  • FortressCraft Evolved. Basically Minecraft with some Factorio bits. But the factory side is much weaker than Factorio. It's more about tunnelling underground (the terrain is made from blocks) in search of ores then figuring out how to get them up to your base.

Big Pharma - Build production lines to process ingredients into pharma products, more kinda open than Infinifactory, but still leans much more on the puzzle side than on the tycoon game side.

Production Line - The same but you're building cars, might have stronger tycoon elements but also primarily focused on the production line puzzle aspect.

But the bottom line is, there really isn't anything that's just like Factorio. Satisfactory is pretty much the one to watch out for, but yeah... 3D. Could be great 'cause different perspective, or could be a horrible mess :)

All the ones on my list have been mentioned. But to me, the core of factorio is the automation. And no other game seems to take automation to the level of depth and complexity of factorio.

I second (or third, or whatever) the above.

Nothing quite does what Factorio does. Its really cool to be standing in some random part of your factory, decide you want to build something, and simply request in a bunch of parts (or, better yet, plop down a blueprint and let the factory churn out the whole thing for you).

Most of Factorio is "build for the sake of building" or "build a bigger factory just so you can build a BIGGER factory". But since the infinite research was added a while back, you at least feel you are working towards something.

My daughter and I had an idea that EVENTUALLY one robot would be able to do the work of your entire factory, due to the robot speed infinite research. I know it is not practically possible, but it would be an awesome thing to see, one robot moving at Warp 9, able to build the largest of constructions in no time flat. In the same vein as Douglas Adams' Infinitie Improbability Drive.

I did once build a FCE game where I made a bus and it was honestly really satisfying. People dont give the automation side of it the credit it deserves, and I think I know why. The automation side of Factorio is based off of a singular set of machines that can complete any build (assembly machines) whereas FCE likes to use separate machines for each item. It's a bad habit of factorio players to see each assembly block as near useless but IMO most dont get the required production levels going in FCE to truly get automation going. FCE is very, VERY hard o rush and WILL take a long time to get even basic automation. Mostly due to smelters and a lact of things such as splitters and filtering items. It is SO much more than "minecraft with a few factories", but it is a very different game with a different goal and design philosophies.

X3 TC, very differnet game, all about aoutomation.
Tera-tech can have small prodaction line + mining - hudge potencial if they will do correct.

I dunno about seeing assembly blocks as useless. The beauty of games like this [and Factorio in particular] lies in the simplicity of the components. You get a few simple gadgets and gizmos, each with a specific task they are capable of accomplishing. Put a few together this way and they together perform a more complex function. Arrange them another way and the function is completely different. Gather together multiple blocks of those functions and create the magic :))

I love the combinator system in particular. Just a few very basic logic driven components that give you everything you need to build insanely complex computing power within your factory.

There are too few games that take this formula and go anywhere with it. I believe nearly every one has already been mentioned above [and I've played most of those suggested]. I seriously hope this is the dawn of a whole new genre of games that will provoke folks to think, use that grey matter for more than 'aim n shoot'.

FortressCraft Evolved. One of my most played games even. The latest updates have been improving the factory aspect even more than ever. The game has added a ton of content even if development is getting closer and closer to the end. I would suggest playing on a decent difficulty setting to get a real Factorio feel. with slow conveyors and either plentiful or scarce resources you can get a really nice manufacturing feeling.

Heavily modded minecraft. I would suggest a modpack like infitech or age of engineering that incorporates the mods in a somewhat balanced way. The mining method of gregtech is atleast decent enough to be acceptable and some of the other autominers aren't that terrible. Gregtech's factory aspect is way more complicated and IMO more fun than Factorio as well.

I'm going to suggest FortressCraft Evolved as well. Although Factorio is more polished overall, I find the power generation and distribution in FCE much, much more satisfying.
